When the sun is rising in the east isn't it only 3:30 AM in the west of China?
Why does China only have one time zone?
The government here in China tries its best to control as many aspects of life as they possibly can. By having one time zone, the entire country can be on what is called Beijing Standard Time. There is also no Daylight Savings Time here. So, yes, sunrise and sunset can occur at rediculous hours in some parts of the country. In the northwestern automomous region of Xinjiang people making plans set times by asking "is that Xinjiang time or Beijing time?" There are ways around most things.
Reply:law,not physics decide time zones
Reply:Time zones are a creation of men (and women). The Chinese government decided they only wanted one time zone. Some countries o not have a summer time either. It has nothing to do with the government wanting to control everything. They just felt it was more practical. If you ask me, they are right. I have enough hard time trying to figure out what time it is in other parts of this country, when I want to call a friend.
Reply:to observe Daylight Saving Time
Reply:So they have to worry about one less thing when they are travelling.
