Will China ever become a democracy?

Democracy or republic? The reason I ask is because they are a rising power and could eventually become a superpower. I fear a gigantic Imperilist communist superpower.

I know how everyone calls america imperilists but the chinese are true imperilists. I mean they want Taiwan and who knows if they buy Siberia in the future.

Anyways what do you think.

Will China ever become a democracy?
One guys opinion... I believe that as long as China can keep it's population under control and still allow them certain freedoms... cell phones are all the rage in China and they consider it a huge privilege to be able to own a cell phone. Communism as a whole is doomed for failure because there is no individuality, humans as a race are first and for most individuals, then citizens. The reason Democracy has worked as well as it has is because people are rewarded for going above and beyond the call of duty... that stopped happening in U.S.S.R. and that is why it fell.
Reply:If only a fifth or fourth or so of the people in the United States care enough about democracy to vote, I suspect China will become a democracy faster than the United States ever does.
Reply:well, it will not be easy

but it is okay to have democracy and communism

you just need to find a system where everyone benefits

who knows...maybe the USA will turn communist
Reply:The hardliner commies are dying off due to old age.

The 30 somethings want democratcy- look at Tieneman Square in 1989.

If you really need something to worry about- look at how America is becoming a very socialist state and how we're turning into a quasi-NAZI government run state.

Now, imagine a one world government. If you DON'T believe in Christ, I'm sure that you'll LOVE to get the "mark of the beast" in the form of human RFID's.

As a Christian, I suspect I'll either be in a concentration camp or killed.
Reply:In time they will be a republic.
Reply:i have visited china and i have to say that it is only a communist country in name, in reality it is not a communist country though corruptions still dominates, but after listening what the current generation of chinese youths(future leaders) have to say about china and the future, i am optamistic that china will soon progress into the 21st century as a modern republic.
Reply:As they develop more economically, the people will begin to want more say in the government of their country. So, yes I think that China will eventually become a democracy.
