No. The Chinese are modeling their economy after the US, because our economy works. Capitalism is an excellent model to sustain an economy. It promotes ideas, creativeness, research, and much more. China wants to pull themselves out of the semi third world status and compete globally with the rest of the advanced countries. They have come to realize the success a country can have through capitalism.





China, unfortunately, is sucking up the world's resources to put themselves on the fast track. Their country is so large, they are affecting the entire world's economies by driving up inflation, which makes everything more expensive. They will eventually level out on their growth and their production costs and costs of exports will increase, which will lower the demand for their goods. Low cost labor and production will gradually shift to poorer countries, which China will then have a hand in developing.
Reply:Chinese need a very efficiant economic model to control its population, and it appears that Chinese are pretty much better at it, than most Americans (believed it or not, but its their traditions...) So they only way to keep them quiet, is to lead them thinking they can become rich, so they must let the economy roll for a while. Also, China lack infrastructures and research and developments facilities, so to answer this needs, they need foreigners, and to attract foreigners, they need a so, so market economy, with little macro-economic controls. In other words, they essentially use this economy for a dual purposes, socially, and technologically speaking...





But they are far from stupid, they will not embrace this system until they lose their soul...
