Most of the west and corn belt region is highly Christian and guaranteed republican votes.





American companies massively invest and share their technologies with Chinese companies,thus making china increasingly industrial and more dependant on foreign agriculture and foreign oil.





This explain the actual rise for food and oil. Western american farmers are coming back to the farms after decencies of hard time. Traditional American values are thus protected.Nothing is more American and patriot than an American farmer who is closer to the land.Corn belt region is the region with the highest birth rate for white Americans.Without that part of united states, white Americans would decrease under Hispanic and African Americans numbers.





In response to this sudden wealth, Corn belt farmers are voting in great numbers for republicans , thus guarantee them future president.





Will the united states eventually pay for this sacrifice?Chinese hackers are now stronger than ever before.

This is not an issue of politics as much as it is an issue of education and cost of labor. China and the other Asian countries have a huge number of highly educated people who are willing to work for far less than Americans. Much of IT can be done anyplace with a high speed connection.





The same can be said for electronics assembly, there are many Asians wiling to work for peanuts and transportation is cheap thus our TV's, cell phones, etc, can be designed and made cheaper in Asia.





As to the corn belt, it is now possible to farm vast farms with very few people. As a result the mid west is losing population and thus political clout. Also, many farmers are politically progressive and not automatic Republican voters. Though there farms are so large they are likely against the death tax, a Republican issue.





Like you I am concerned about the loss if vital industry to Asia , do not see it as having Republican underpinnings.
Reply:wow, that is some deep thought, with a mix of paranoia. Sometimes, paranoia is just smart "thinkin". Yes, I believe there is political play in using corn as a fuel source. It does help to bolster the corn producing states and secure political alignment, but who said this was the plot of the republicans? Democrats are more environmental nut jobs than republicans. Pandering to the votes of "whites" is no different than the democrats favoring programs that will shackle the black community with a "nanny state" answer to all the problems of poverty. People need to be empowered not babysat if they want to survive and compete in a global society.
Reply:America used to have a stranglehold on technology of manufacturing. This gave a great deal of power to the middle class through their buying power. Farmers represent a very small part of the population who as land owners and businessmen, are gaining in wealth and power. The Republican party prefers to cater to the elite and powerful, while trying to appeal to the common man's vote through an illusion of family values. Conservatism is a ruse to remove rights and control the masses (Patriot act etc.).
