How many Americans here read international news sources?

since everything from Violent images in Iraq, dead troops being brought home, international protests, 9/11 cover-ups are all censored on the corporate controlled US media - ABC, CBS, FOX, CNN, NBC. How many Americans have actually traveled or lived in other countries (excluding club med, and resorts in third world countries that you exploit)?

From a friendly Canadian....

and stop talking about people wanting to come to America from other countries...compared to Canada, Europe, Australia, America is not as multicultural as any of these...and not multicultured, either.

End the Cuban Embargo! Red China Rise! Get the hell out of Iraq! Pay Vietnam war reparations!

My family bought Al Jazeera, but at the same time we have American TV shows. Their view points on the same issue surprisngly don't differ that much, but the biasm is still emphasized and pretty obvious.
Reply:Hi there, you sweet Maoist you!

Anyone ever go to the Al Jazeera web-site? It's very interesting, at least you get an alternative view. I heard an Iraq war vet say the soldiers hated Al Jazeera, CNN and BBC. Can't remember in which order of hatred he placed them, but CNN was right up there!

As far as Red China rising, I'm sympathetic to a lot of communism's slogans and its opposition to the war, but in the end, communism will never work because they attempt to kill the priestly class of intellectuals and instead put the butchers in power; the way to stop war and stuff is to stop killing innocent animals. The slaughter house is where the seeds of war are planted. And that's a fact.
Reply:I read news sources from all over. Now how about you just worry about your country?
Reply:I try not to watch any American news stations like CNN or Fox. I do occasionally listen to Democracy Now! and frequently look at BBC. However, ever since March 20, 2003, I've taken BBC with a grain of salt. They published an article about the US using shock and awe in Iraq on March 19 and the next day, that article was gone. You couldn't even find it in a search. They also tend to be even more anti-Catholic than the US media. Now I'm looking into Al-Jazeera English because their news is much more realistic. No, I'm not a terrorist or crazy liberal. I just like my news not to be filtered by American propaganda.
Reply:Okay, so you're another anti-American. Shut the f*ck up. I read BBC and Al Jazeera web sites. I get viewpoints from many sources and I come to one conclusion, America is still the best country on the planet. God bless America.
Reply:I am US borne, I lived in Miami-Florida for seven years, before that, I lived in south America and recently move out of Florida for good to the UK, and now I look back to these past 7 years and even though I did my professional career there, I felt it was the 7 worst years of my live (social wise), because of this capitalistic systems I did not have many friends, everybody was busy, did not have a real girlfriend cause I did not have money to show and people saw me like I was a rat because I was poor “the more you have, the more you are” . And in the US, you can not pursued a university degree unless you come from a very wealthy family or live in debt for the rest of your life and if you become sick, you either have to have an insurance (very expensive if not paid by employer) or lived in debt for the rest of your live.

I think in the US, there is a culture to work but not culture to socialise with others, for example Drs see you as a number $ more than as a patient, i don’t want to generalise but i think the US system changes people into machines and blocks their mind form what is outside, most of the people I meet there, think that the US is the best country in every single way, without even visiting other countries, well I don’t blame then , with the little time off we had in Florida as listed on linked below, there is not time to visit any other countries,

Well, something else I realize when I was travelling Europe and south America, I noticed that most of Americans did not make any effort to a least speak the most common or used word in other languages and expect everybody to speak english as once a girl from Chicago told me “we are leaving the a globalisation world so everybody need to speak English”

In the other hand I think that economically wise US is great , my parents are doing financially very well so is my brother and most of the people I know, but unfortunately all the money they make and have, cant not even be enjoyed. WE as “Americans” should see the world equally, change our minds, not because we are richest and have the economical power we have the right to abuse others and impose our system, ethics, morals as every country has their own and we should respect that.
Reply:You are not a friendly canuck, your a biased Stephan Dion supporter so do us all a favour and..... the........up.
