What can we do to help those earthquake victims in China?

the damage is really overwhelming.. now the count is rising, 12,000 casualties already.

What can we do to help those earthquake victims in China?
Unofficial estimates, as of now, claim that the total number of casualties is far in excess of 20,000.

It's utterly shocking to know..

All that we can probably do is pray to the Almighty that the near and loved ones of the dead find strength in overcoming this indescribable tragedy.

I would like to know if there are any international agencies that are involved in collecting donations for the impoverished families. I would like to donate my bit.
Reply:I'm not sure there is much we can do. It's a horrible situation, but China is a big nation that can do what it needs to do to recover. One of the (few) benefits of a communist nation is the ability to mobilize the army to assist in these kinds of things with very little red tape. With Katrina, everyone was tripping over each other's feet and that cost lives. In this case, the Party says "Go" and everyone damn well goes.
Reply:I pretty sure Red Cross will make a donation to the cause so if you would give your donations to them, your blessing would reach those in need. Also check CNN.com to see if there are other websites that may be more direct so if you want to, you could make the donation online.
Reply:i feel like I should go over there and do something
Reply:there is little we can do with our econmy like this. not many country came and help us in our natural crisis
