Wondering why some people in china eat aborted fetuses?

you think you are capable of dealing with reality, perhaps you'd like to consider the possibility that aborted fetuses are being eaten in China. There are photos on the Internet to support this accusation, such as a sequence of photos that show the man below washing the fetus, cutting it into pieces, cooking it, and eating it. There are also reports that the placenta is eaten in China.





Are people really eating fetuses? Or have these photos been created to shock us? Assume these photos are real; can you have an intelligent conversation about this subject?





Why would anybody eat a fetus? Are these people evil? Should we try to stop them from eating fetuses?





Are Americans better because we eat pigs, chicken eggs, and cow's milk?





What would you think if the population continues to rise in Asia, and some people decide to eat their grandparents after they die?

Get your facts straight, and don't listen to urban legends. It's not true.
Reply:This is an urban legend (the eating of a human fetus), just like most places in the modern world, cannibalism in China is taboo.

Reply:Before anyone buys into a story like this, find out the source and what they are trying to get across. This is obviously from China hate groups.





Rule of thumb, if a story is unbelievable, then more then likely it is either blown out of proportion or a lie.





In this case, it's a lie, yet many westerners believe it because it further cements their personal hatred and/or lack of understanding of China.





What most people know of China would fit in a thimble, what most people THINK they know of China would fit in a barrel.

Reply:As you already know from the previous answers, that is completely false. Snopes.com is a wonderful site for checking stuff like that out. As for us eating cows, pigs, and chicken eggs. God put certain animals on this earth to feed us, it's no where near humans eating humans.

i hate the fact that people will actually go and abort to eat but hey thank god we live in american and have the luxury of McDonald's [being sarcastic]....

But the cannibalism/China/fetus story is a myth, as several people have already pointed out by referring to the Snopes site.
Reply:I have heard of many people eating the Placentas! I would not, but some believe its a great source of protein....I am sure I saw it on like the discovery channell and I think that one of the news programs such as dateline 20/20 did something on it a few yrs back....but as for an aborted fetus...never heard such a thing!

as for eating the placentas, many cultures do THAT... i can't remember which ones, but it's actually traditional for the mother to eat the placenta to reclaim the nutrients in it for breastfeeding... i wouldn't, but it makes sense (most animal mothers do this)
