Should America be concerned about the rise of China?

Sure we should.

China is poised to enter its own age of greatness and power, the only thing holding them back is the lack of resources. They can't expand their economy without new resources or a dramatic drop in the prices of resources (particularly oil).

They have a population that is becoming more and more crowded and an increasing percentage of males (since female children are more likely to be aborted), this causes a greater chance for unrest and a higher military prone population.

Knowing several people that have lived a good deal or most of their lives in China, they are distressed to say that unless there are some changes in the mindset of the country as a whole, in the next generation China will most likely go on the warpath, and we are their only real competition.

Some may call it ridiculous, but the economic partnership issue is not a powerful argument. Germany's biggest trading partner at the time of both world wars was France. One of Japan's was the US.

War goes beyond the bounds of normal economic dealings. Partnerships can often lead to envy and envy, on a national scale, often leads to war.

Should America be concerned about the rise of China?
I don't think so because the people of China are on the verge of a revolt against communism. They will be a capitalistic/democratic nation within ten years.
Reply:I don't think we need to worry about China in a militarily way. Economically, that might be a different story. I think the leaders in China realize their people want a piece of the pie. China is investing in their infrastructure in a very big way. They are also investing in the health %26amp; welfare of it's people. They are building numerous modern hospitals around China. American companies are receiving many huge contracts for construction of these projects.Their green energy program is growing at an unbelievable rate (and it should. China is the largest polluter in the world at this time). I believe as Chinese becomes more in tune with the material things available to them they will become capitalistic. My biggest concern is the tremendous debt we owe to China. They are very smart to buy our debt. Indebtness is a powerful leverage tool! If America doesn't break the chains of corporate control we will advance at a much slower pace. Corporate conglomerates have a tendancy to try to remain in a state of "profit first" %26amp; resist development of newer products that translate into higher cost(R %26amp; D). I believe their philosophy is" milk ever bit of profit we can get". Unfornunately, pursuing that train of thought will put us behind the other developed nations in the world... I.E., A company in America has developed a process to make wood into pellets that burned with coal eliminates 85% of smokestack pollutants. In Norwegian countries they are developing underwater generator that are powered by the movement of the tides. The list is l-o-n-g. In America, it's oil, oil, oil. We are willing to fight %26amp; have others die for it!
Reply:Yes, they should. China has nuclear weapons and has a long-standing hate for the U.S. While nuclear club treatys keep away a nuclear war....China is ready for war against many of its neighbors, many of those neighbors are friends with the U.S. Plus, China has COMPLETELY BOUGHT OUT all of the United States debts to foreign countries. This means the US is in debt to China, and one false move could bring on WW3.
Reply:Yes The USA should be worried about China...

1. China has nuclear weapons

2. China brought all the USA debt from other countries

3. The USA borrowed the money to fiance the Iraq war from China

4.China is ready for war against many of its neighboring countries, which are allies of the U.S.A.

China is a sleeping giant and if this President or future Presidents make a wrong move with Foreign policy WW III wont be to far behind and the USA will be the Front Line!! Until we are debt free from China this country must keep on its toes with regard to China
Reply:Should the American continents worry about China? Not really why would China take on a few dozen countries that are on it?

Now, should the United States of America worry about China? Still, not really. It's in both countries best interests to remain neutral or neutral-friends. China is not the next enemy and never will. We may not agree with their way of government, but most of the entire world doesn't agree with ours.
Reply:As China becomes more industrialized and accustomed to having a middle class they become less of a threat socially, but more of a threat in their quest for energy and other resources. Don't forget why WWII started in the Pacific theater. Japan was searching for needed energy resources and decided to expand using their military.

And as the manufacturing capacity and capability of the USA goes overseas to other countries, it puts us in a compromised position. Imagine if the unthinkable happened and a major war started, and we couldn't make boots for our troops. Sure we could open new factories, but that takes a month or two. What happens in the meantime.
