Do You Think George .w. Bush Is Right In Blaming India And China For Rising Oil And Food Prices?

the media is so distorted that Americans can't band together to fight it because no one is sure what it all means...

Ok Here is the REAL story and it is not something you will hear from the Media.

Reagan wrote Presidential orders allowing for deregulation in our country and removed the federal price caps on things such as oil. But his policy caused the stock market to suffer its second worst day in history in the crash of Oct. 1987.

Bush Sr. left the price caps off but raised taxes 3 times screwing up the ecomony and his re-election at the same time.

Bill Clinton restored the price caps so that gas prices rose according to inflation only!

On his second day in Office, Bush Jr. removed the price caps but never raised taxes preventing the economy from going scour, the mistake learned from his father's presidency!

All the next President has to do is put the federal caps back on oil and the problem wil sovle itself within weeks.

Hillary is the only one who has mentioned these price caps and so is the only one who really knows what this means, but be sure that the oil corporations know what it means!

The US maintains a 5 month supply of Oil for national emergencies, but this supply is currently at 9 months worth, so Opec has cut back on production, not to create higher demand in lower supllies but just the opposite, to prevent surpluses.

The price of a Barrel of Oil in the US is $120.00 but that is actualy a future, or what oil will sell for in 90 days not tomorrow at the pump! But they raise the price because 95% of American does not understand any of it and the only information they get is from "Oil Experts"!

Quoted from J.C. "Jake" Laughton,

Do You Think George .w. Bush Is Right In Blaming India And China For Rising Oil And Food Prices?
Partially right. They are demanding more oil. But we are demanding more biofuels to replace our oil demand; and that is a major cause of the rise in food prices. Its also caused by the oil rise, because it costs more to ship food all over the world.

So they have a hand in it, so does America.

But the biggest reason the price of oil went so high is that its valued in US dollars. The dollar is worth much, much less; so it takes more of them to equal the value of a barrel of oil.

And the reason the dollar is so worthless is the war in Iraq combined with Bush's tax policies. Bush is trying to pay for a war, but doesn't have enough money through taxes coming in to do so. So he does the only thing he can do, borrow the money.

This raises the national debt. Because we owe money to countries we borrowed from (mostly China). This lowers the value of the dollar because other countries own the dollars before we can use them. Until the national debt is paid, the dollar's value will remain low. As long as the dollar remains low in value, oil will cost a lot more.

So George Bush is also a big reason for the rise in the price of both food and oil. But he is not lying when he includes China and India in the cause. But he is the more responsible one.
Reply:I can't speak for India, but I can speak for China.

China is feeding its people well. Food here is abundant and cheap. I live here as a transplanted American and last night my girlfriend and I had dinner. 3 dishes cooked at home and we estimated the total cost was about 3 yuan, or 21 cents. If we add meat to that it goes up to about to about a buck, fish about 75 cents in total.

Also, China's economy is growing by about 10% per year, but so are many third world countries that have thrown off repression and installing inclusion and capitalism. Of course they are going to need more oil. Yet per capita, the USA uses more oil per person then any other. China uses less oil then the USA despite the countries population being 4 times larger.

I do not understand how Bush can make such statements.

Reply:Partly. A more important factor is the US push toward ethanol -- which has diverted many tons of corn from people and animal food into fuel -- and every bit of that is wasted, as it takes as much energy to create the ethanol as it provides. Adverse weather conditions in various parts of the world (e.g, Australia) have not helped either. As for rising oil prices, you need look no farther than Congress, which has prohibited oil drilling on vast tracts where it is known to exist. The shortage is costing the US a billion dollars a day -- but the caribou on the North Slope don't have to look at an oil rig.
Reply:Absolutely! It is a worldwide matter of supply and demand. Both India and China (insert the once great Russia as well) want to make the west squirm by inflating the import costs per barrel of oil. It is time for us to be more aggressive in developing alternative energy sources. I've heard that there are several bi-products from nature that would fit the bill. Personally, I don't care if our fuel is made from corn, sugar distillates or cow feces as long as it is a reasonably priced option. The cost of producing them may be the real issue though. By the way, where do you get the idea that GWB has any control of what foreign countries charge us for crude oil? Geez, the loopy libs will say anything to discredit a sitting conservative president.
Reply:Only in the most short-sighted and simplistic way.... The standard of living for people in those countries is going up. So more people can afford cars and people can afford to eat more. However, when you ask yourself why the economies in those countries are doing so well.... You have to ask yourself why the US is shipping all of it's manufacturing and engineering jobs there.

It's because the companies that do so answer only to their stockholders. It's because there are no penalties (such as tariffs) to keep them from chasing profits overseas. The funny thing is; US companies have to pay tariffs to these countries when we ship there. In this regard, it really is Bush's fault... And Clinton's... And Bush's... And Regan's...

Now, these countries have better standards of living, and the labor isn't as cheap anymore. And they're running out of labor to exploit.
Reply:Absolutely, because of Conservative economics for the last thirty years we have given out industrial might away and because our stuff is made in those countries their economies are growing faster then if we would of so oil demand goes up so all those savings at the stores end up in the tank.
Reply:bush owns oils wells and is rich he does not care about us alot of people dont realize a whole paycheck goes into our gas tank our gas bills are getting shut off we are running out of food we have rto cut back and jobs are paying 7 bucks an hour with no benefits i have an education but cant find a good paying job here in michigan and risk loseing my home because oil is greedy theres no way in 3 years it can go up to over 4 bucks a gallon from 1.97 a gallon theres no reason greed is the reason and i see more homeless everyday and im even headed that way i pray we all can get lower prices before we all end up in the street
Reply:Haven't seen a bunch of huge, fat, Chinese and Indians, driving up and down the road in their SUV's on the news.

Maybe they decided to get their share before we consumed it all with 1/3 their populations.
Reply:Yea considering China and India are the two largest nations in the world, both developing countries. They demand more oil then ever before.

Economics 101, Supply and Demand
Reply:World supply and demand (that includes China and India) is why prices are higher.

Any one who paid attention in high school should be able to understand this simple concept.
Reply:The guy will blame anybody but himself, his corporate oil friends and Saudi boyfriends.
Reply:No, it's a red herring. Bush is to blame
Reply:Why doesn't China and India start drilling more of their own oil?
Reply:And ? Where did you hear that nonsense ?

The truth is, it ain't no cheaper for them.
Reply:NO. He should blame the democrats for not letting us drill in Anwar.
Reply:He does have a valid point. It makes more sense than what his 'haters' say.
