Why Is China And India's Rising Superpower Status Having A Completely Opposite Effect On Their Populations???

As China flies to the top, Chinese people are developing a strong sense of pride, confidence, self-respect, both as individuals as well as a nation, race and community. They are becoming nationalistic and patriotic to such an extent that has never been witnessed before. Their excellent performance has brought home the belief that they are just as good, if not better, than all the other civilised races. This increase in respect and pride that they have developed has engendered a revival of Chinese culture, ancient Chinese history, practices, religion and philosophy and pretty much all things Chinese.

In the case of India, we view the absolute opposite. As India too flies to the top, Hindu religion, ancient Indian culture, history, knowledge and pretty much all things Indian are increasingly being thrown out of the window. As Indians start to adopt a more wealthy lifestyle, patriotism, nationalism, love for one’s country and people are increasingly becoming meaningless....

Why Is China And India's Rising Superpower Status Having A Completely Opposite Effect On Their Populations???
1.Diverse languages, regional customs (though common culture).

2.Illiteracy.

The illiterate and the poor are unable to look beyond themselves, lacking in pride .

The politicians try to keep them uneducated for their own ends. And the Indian democracy is a free for all.

Naturally Nationalism and culture have taken the back seat.

I feel some clones are at work in the forum.Yet some outbursts and sudden exits are hard to understand. Report It

Reply:A lot of Indians would benefit from doing away with the caste system. I think this is what the people are rebelling against.
Reply:I don't know much of India so I can't include her in my mix. The only thing I know of India is through a few Indians I know. In one case, I wouldn't trust him with a loan of ten cents, in the other I would trust with a $100 loan.

In China's case, since I live here as an ex pat from the USA I have some insight.

China has gone through 5,000 years of repressive rule. It is only in the last few decades they have been given more freedoms to the point where they are almost as free as Americans. (yes true, work, accumulation of wealth and speaking out - with some limitations that we have and they don't.........yet)

But more importantly is their work ethic and family. In China family is everything. It is part of tradition to take care of their elders. They save money remarkably well. Most pay cash for their homes and cars. They think nothing of working ten hours a day. They are very loyal workers for the most part. They are smart and savvy in business.

The government is extremely stream lined. They don't have the problems that democratic systems have. They get things done that need to be done without a lot of bureaucratic BS. They understand that what the country needs is the same the people want. To rise up to the American dream and they are doing it at their own pace. That in order for China to be successful they must educate and give the people incentives to want to get there. China also learns the lessons from the past and is not afraid to go outside their own country for help.

There is so much more to what China is and everyday living here I am awe struck by what they are, who they are, and where they are going. It is nothing short of remarkable.

My biggest defense of China is not what I say, but rather come over here for a visit to find out for yourself. Lose the Ugly American Fix-it attitude and you'll do just fine.

Peace

Reply:MacDonald's is spreading in China like fire. How is that preserving Chinese culture? I think both societies suffer from this equally, and I hope they find the way to advance while preserving what is best about them.
Reply:Because the Chinese have an atheistic--state loving tradition,

It encourages self esteem through the power of their government,

Indian culture on the other hand are traditionally entrenched in religious custom, Hinduism is the worlds oldest religion, thousand years older than Judaism.

Capitalistic greed and consumption is against eons old traditions and everything in Indian Spiritualism.

Everything 'success' in this new age would bring goes against every fiber of their being.
Reply:The Chineese government is still communist and strictly controls what information the people are allowed to hear. Google, for example, is monitored by the Chineese government for any content that is not to their liking. So the Chineese are in effect brainwashed, not as much as in North Korea, for example, but far more than the Indian people are (are aren't, rather).
Reply:Maybe unbridled nationalism is a danger and some group of people figured it out
