What impact will China's rising power have for the security of its region and the USA?
i think there's no need to worry. china is not an aggressive country. you may say that in ancient times, it has colonised almost the whole asia. however, if u dig deeper in to the history book you'll actually realise that during those periods, china is not ruled by Han people as it is now. Han, is the largest race in china, and Han people are greatly influenced by Confucius and his theories. therefore they think that peace is the most important thing for the country. unlike Han people, during those times, other races which have taken away the power from Han people temporarily had adopted the policy of expanding the country as much as possible(e.g. during Yuan dynastry). therefore in my opinion, china's not gonna become a real threat for it's neighbors or the U.S. it will simply use its power to defend itself in times of need.

but if we r talking about taiwan, it's gonna be totally different. Chinese government views taiwan as part of its own land. it won't tolerate anyone who's trying to devide the country, therefore, at this level, she may not be that peaceful.
Reply:it is a worry - as they seem to be a law unto themselves, with no regard for the issues facing the world eg global warming, and their greedy purchasing of many of world's commodities is ruining the economies of many countries by pushing up prices............

i don't think that they can be trusted to do the right thing
Reply:they will dominate the region.
