I have a Spode Copeland plate China Rose. But unlike all the others I have seen it is not painted, Just brown?

Reply:Spode were early into porcelain and made plates etc for others to decorate as well as for their own decoration. This could have been one of those. On the other hand in the Copeland Spode period they produced many items like tea services which were very plain and with a minimum of decoration but quite a lot of gilding. I am not sure I have understood "just brown" as this sounds like earthenware rather than porcelain
